Understanding Anxiety
Anxiety is more than just feeling nervous or worried—it's a persistent condition that can affect your daily life. Symptoms may include excessive worrying, restlessness, fatigue, difficulty concentrating, and physical symptoms like muscle tension or a racing heart. Anxiety disorders encompass various conditions, including Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Panic Disorder, Social Anxiety Disorder, and Specific Phobias.
At Jumelle Health, we understand that each individual's experience with anxiety is unique. Our goal is to provide compassionate, evidence-based care created to your needs.
Diagnosis Process
Diagnostic Appointment
The diagnosing appointment is your first step toward relief. During this 60-minute session:
● Comprehensive Assessment: We will discuss your symptoms, medical history, lifestyle, and any potential triggers.● Mental Health Screening: You may complete validated anxiety screening tools to help us better understand the severity of your symptoms.● Collaborative Plan Development: We’ll work together to identify your treatment goals and discuss the best treatment options, including therapy, medication, or a combination of both.
Note: For pediatric or adolescent patients, we may ask a parent or guardian to participate in the assessment process.
Testing Options
To gain a deeper understanding of your anxiety, we may recommend additional testing, such as:
● Psychometric Testing: Structured questionnaires to evaluate specific anxiety-related symptoms.● Biopsychosocial Assessments: Comprehensive evaluations that look at biological, psychological, and social factors contributing to anxiety.● Medical Referrals: If symptoms suggest potential physical health contributors (e.g., thyroid issues), we may recommend lab work through your primary care provider.
Testing recommendations will be personalized to your unique needs.
Payment Options
We strive to make our services accessible. Payment is due at the time of service. We accept cash, credit cards, Health Savings Accounts (HSAs), and insurance. For out-of-network insurance plans, we can provide a superbill for potential reimbursement.
